Hearst International chief executive Duncan Edwards has announced his departure after 27 years in the business. Edwards – who has held his current role for the past seven years – is leaving amid Hearst’s re-evaluation of its global strategy.
Prior to his elevation to CEO of the American arm, Edwards was CEO of Hearst UK. It has been confirmed he will remain an advisor to the company until the end of 2016.
Hearst president David Carey comments: “Frank Bennack, Steve Swartz and I are grateful for Duncan’s far-reaching contributions to Hearst, and we wish him the very best in his next endeavor.”
Carey also confirms Edwards will not be replaced – rather a new ‘one Hearst’ initiative will take place that sees the international teams merge under a more integrated leadership approach.
