Introducing Australia’s new luxe beauty mag

In a time when waving goodbye to magazines is more common than welcoming new ones into the fold, it’s refreshing to hear that Bella Media has launched a brand new glossy for our reading pleasure. CosBeauty is a high-end magazine that’s dedicated to looking and feeling good and will replace the former Cosmetic Surgery & Beauty Magazine. BEAUTYDIRECTORY chats to Bella Media publisher and editor-in-chief Michelle Kearney about what we can expect to see in the exciting new publication.

What made you decide to replace Cosmetic Surgery & Beauty Magazine?
Cosmetic Surgery & Beauty Magazine was the trailblazer publication for the aesthetics industry when it launched in 1998. Until then, there was no reliable information source for anyone seeking information about cosmetic procedures, and the internet didn’t exist. Since then, the wide acceptance of aesthetic enhancements and the demand for efficacious cosmeceutical products has seen a shift of cosmetic surgery from a niche offering to an essential part of mainstream beauty. CosBeauty Magazine reflects this direction and delivers a modern representation of beauty and wellness, with beautiful designs and quality articles.

The rebranding also builds and collaborates on the success of our digital products www.cosbeauty.com.au and our weekly CosBeauty eNews.

Can you tell us a little bit about how CosBeauty will be different to its predecessor?
CosBeauty is more heavily focused on beauty and has greater emphasis on skin health and makeup styling, plus the products to achieve this. Our key point of difference is that we’re taking our insider knowledge of the science, technology and innovation within the aesthetics industry and making it accessible to the wider beauty market.

What sort of content can we expect to see?
Each issue will contain beauty trend reports, new products from leading cosmetic houses, skincare and makeup, plus articles on fitness, health, wellness and of course cosmetic enhancement. CosBeauty [content] is written in an easy-to-read style, but you can still expect in-depth articles on the science and technology behind some of the world’s best cosmeceuticals and anti-ageing products, with expert commentary from industry leaders.

Who will be working on the magazine?
The great team at Bella Media hasn’t changed. The CosBeauty editorial team is led by Aimee Rodrigues (neé Surtenich), our highly experienced editorial director, and Erin Docherty, our medical journalist.

Will the magazine be available in any other formats other than print?
CosBeauty Magazine will also be available as a digital edition on www.cosbeauty.com.au.

When does the first issue come out?
The first issue went on sale yesterday (Monday December 5, 2016).
