In line with International Women’s Day held on March 8, Bauer Media Group showcased the strength of the company’s female leadership team and called for stronger support for women in management positions.
Bauer Media Group global publisher Yvonne Bauer revealed that the publisher’s equality principles have proven to be successful. "Women in top jobs do fantastic work here [at Bauer]. They make a decisive contribution to the success of our international media company. Equality for our people means that there are no barriers to progression within Bauer,” says Bauer.
Bauer revealed that any member of staff has equal opportunity to pursue a career at Bauer, whether male or female. This statement is reflected in the figures. At Bauer Media Group worldwide, female managers make up 43 per cent, while at Bauer in Australia, it rises to 60 per cent.
On a global level, women are employed in 53 per cent of Bauer Media Group’s editorial management positions, while in Australia, the figure is 65 per cent. The Australian figure includes consumer editorial staff working across print and digital, as well as female publishers and editorial staff in Bauer Custom Media and Bauer Trader Media.
