After 15 years of supporting breast cancer charities, ghd is continuing its mission by collaborating with tattoo artist David Allen to create empowering designs for this year’s “Ink on Pink” collection.
For almost a decade, the Chicago-based tattoo artist has been helping women reclaim their femininity after breast cancer by decorating their mastectomy scars with elegant floral designs. These tattoo designs have been transferred on to the ghd limited edition stylers to support the cause behind them.
Cancer survivor Grace Lombardo, 38, is one of the women David has tattooed and ghd’s ambassador for the campaign. The real-life hero and mother of three used David’s skilled tattoo work to conceal her own mastectomy and reconstruction scars.
“Cancer takes away more than your breasts. It takes your hair, your confidence. But my tattoo is something I decided to have because I wanted to take back control,” says Grace.
The Ink on Pink range raises money for Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand, with $20 from every limited edition styler sold going directly to the charity.
ghd’s goal is to raise $1 million (USD) this year with the latest collection. The brand has so far raised over $15 million (USD) for breast cancer charities in the last 15 years.
The collection is available from 1 July, 2019. Download ghd Ink On Pink Collection – ghd gold® limited edition styler and ghd Ink On Pink Collection – ghd platinum+ limited edition styler.
