This week saw New Zealand's best social media campaigns crowned at the Social Media Awards, with 400 of the country’s digital-savvy attendees turning up to the Sweatshop Brew Kitchen for the ceremony.
Held for the second year running, nzgirl’s Belinda Nash was the big winner of the night, taking home the acclaimed People’s Choice Award as well as Blogger of the Year. Nash credits a lot of her success to the integration of Snapchat, as it helps her to connect with followers in a personal way.
The awards attracted a wide range of entries, all of which produced high calibre of work. Convenor of judges Ken Freer believes this "demonstrates that in New Zealand, social media has well and truly come of age as a marketing and communications channel”.
