bdTrial: A few of our favourite things

The BD team reveal the products they currently can’t get enough of.

 Facial
This all new facial treatment promised to offer an indulgent, relaxing treat that would also produce real, visible results - and the fact that it was designed by international director of education for Elizabeth Arden PRO, Tracy May-Harriott, I knew I would be in for a really special experience. The new Luxury Skin Health Facial combines Indian and Chinese massage techniques with firm movements to encourage lymphatic drainage. The concept behind this facial was to offer a mindful experience that would leave the lucky recipient completely zoned-out with a beautiful, radiant complexion. Working across the muscle formations in the face, the cocktail of actives and antioxidants plus safflower oil and shea butter promised age-defying results with a restored healthy complexion. A hand peel treatment during the facial using Elizabeth Arden PRO’s peel pads was an added and very welcome bonus. The final spritz of Hydrating Antioxidant Spray at the end of the treatment was a refreshing wake-up and offered a protective veil for my fresh, newly textured complexion so I was ready to face the real outside world. - Janet

Summer is in full swing, which means I now need to bare my dry winter skin to the world. Before donning the shorts and skirts, my go-to scrub is the Alba Hawaiian Body Polish Sugar Cane. The sugar cane co-enzymes gently remove dull skin cells, leaving my skin looking fresh and radiant. - Aja

 Revitanail 2-Step Revival System
As a female, I feel as though I am well within my rights to change my mind whenever I like. And change my mind I do - on a regular basis - particularly when it comes to nail colour. I’m an unashamed nail polish user and abuser, changing the hues on my fingertips as often as I change my moods. As this doesn’t generally fare well for my nail health, nail rehab for me comes in the form of Revitanail 2-Step Revival System. The easy-as-anything two-tier system includes the Revitanail Nail Strengthener to strengthen weak nails, and Revitanail Nourishing Oil to soothe and soften cracked cuticles. The power couple restore my nails to their best within weeks, helping to place me right back on that nail polish bandwagon… - Sarah

I’m not normally one to follow trends seen on the coveted catwalks of the world or published in luxury lifestyle magazines, but when the ‘matte lips’ trend surfaced I must say I was eager to embrace it. As I mentioned in another review, my lips are one of my favourite accessories (thanks mumma), so I’ll take any chance I get to glam them up! I wore the Major Betsy shade at our Christmas party just yesterday and it is fair to say I was the ONLY girl not needing to touch up her lippie - five hours on a boat cruising Sydney harbour, sipping on champers and nibbling on canapes and not once did my lippie bleed or flake. The colour is highly-pigmented so no need to apply layers and layers of it, literally apply once and you’re set for the whole day. Can’t wait to (MODEL)ROCK the rest of these shades this party season! - Sophia

Mavalip Lipstick
Nothing screams summer fun more to me than endless days soaking up the rays before slipping on a kaftan and heading out to enjoy a balmy evening with friends. Obviously you don’t want to go home and get ready (missing out on crucial drinking time), so I find the quickest and easiest way to go from the beach to the bar is by slicking my hair back and popping on some bright lippie. Skin is ok to leave as it should be, all glowy and flushed from the sun, and the pop of colour brightens up my complexion tenfold. These Mavala lipsticks are so pigmented and contain a moisturising prolip complex in the formula that keeps my pout nice and soft. A must-have for your summer essentials kit! - Kelly

Have you ever heard the saying, ‘Wake up and smell the inspiration’? Well, thanks to the therapeutic In Esssense Mini Ultra Sonic Vaporiser and Motivation Lifestyle Blend essential oil, I can do just that. The safe, simple and effective vaporiser has been designed with ultra sonic wave technology to work on the vibration of water, as opposed to heat, to create ambience (and a little motivation) in the air. The essential oil molecules are dispersed in their purest form, so while the air is being cleaned, you’re also getting a delicious hint of aromatherapy. The vaporiser works for up to three hours at a time, with a timer for automatic shut off, as well as four LED multi-colour lighting options depending on your mood. The empowering blend of orange, eucalyptus, lemongrass, peppermint and cardamom promotes a sense of focus. - Ally

We all have that one thing we can’t get enough of - for some people it’s shoes, other people it’s bags, but for me… it’s foundation. And now I think I’ve found the Louboutin of foundation. The one that takes pride of place in your cupboard. Knowing Paula’s Choice nails it every time when it comes to skincare, I was interested in seeing how she went when it came to foundation. And yep, she’s a winner. The All Bases Covered Foundation gives a beautiful glowing finish and has a long-lasting medium coverage. Not only that, but it has a lightweight texture so it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything and includes SPF 25 - which is great news for this freckle-faced gal! - Yelena
