bdTrial: August favourites

The BD team reveal what’s topped the list in regards to beauty products for the month of August.

I’ve got Italian skin and it has the tendency to be extremely oily. Using a cleanser by itself will do the trick short-term, but by midday I’m shinier than a new bike. The FOREO LUNA 2 has completely changed my oil game (it removes more than 99 per cent of dirt and oil) and using it in the morning keeps me matte all day. It also prepares the skin for products better and the finish of my make-up is so much smoother. LOVE IT. - Vanessa

I haven’t used fake tan in years and am a bit ‘anti’ it if anything. When the opportunity to try this product came up, while I love endota, I still didn’t want to say yes. But after smelling it and reading the ingredients list I decided I’d give it a go – just for the moisturising factor. After one application I went so golden! I was actually blown away and loved it. It applied well, smelt nice (but more like the standard coconutty fake tan smell as the day went on) and worked brilliantly. - Carly

Anyone who has asked me my beauty routine has been forced to listen to me rave on about bhave products. I admit it, I’m a bit of an obsessed fan. What makes the leave-in crème so good is how divine your hair is left looking and feeling after using this product. Designed to soften, nourish and control unmanageable hair, this product leaves it looking less like scraggly bed hair and more like polished waves. Infused with nutritive-rich ingredients such as raw natural keratin, certified organic argan oil, macadamia oil, vitamin E, sunflower seed oil and jojoba oil, the crème works to repair, strengthen, and nourish locks. Not just an August favourite – this one is an all-time favourite. - Yelena

Glasshouse Fragrances
I’m an absolute sucker for all things lavender; it’s such a classic fragrance, which when combined with a steaming bath and glass of wine, makes you positively woozy with relaxation. This gorgeous limited-edition candle has infused the lavender top notes with sea salt and saffron, making it a sexy, interesting hybrid on a classic single note blend. Glasshouse candles are always beautifully fragranced with strong burn times and without the tendency to tunnel. I’ll be continuing to purchase these stunning limited-edition offerings (in even more stunning limited-edition packaging) each and every time. - Kelly

Ella Baché Radiance Foaming Cleanser
I know I’m not alone when I say I suffer from a case of ‘winter face’. Dull skin can be shameful when all you desire is the dewy glow of summer. To help boost the complexion (even when the weather is as lacklustre as this week), swap your cleanser for one that promises to give you a step up in the glow department. Ella Baché’s new Radiance Foaming option rids the skin of impurities and pollutants while helping to stabilise the skin’s normal pH level thanks to a combination of moringa seed extract, omega-6 and -9, and vitamin E. - Sarah
