bdTrial: Spritzing into the season

The BD team trial a range of fragrances to complement the changing season.

AERIN Amber Musk
Aerin Lauder describes this fragrance as a “cosy blanket” you can wrap around yourself. And after the first spritz, I really did feel enveloped in a softness and velvety-ness that was distinctive but not at all overpowering. The mellow notes of the amber are made feminine with a hint of rose that feels very luxurious to wear. I’m not surprised that this is the global bestseller in the range. It's grown-up but very modern. I love it for an evening fragrance in autumn. - Janet

B.BALENCIAGA
This is the perfect fragrance to lightly spritz as the leaves fall and layers get heavier with autumn. Though its fresh top notes remind me of warmer weather, it settles into darker, woody notes that aren’t too heady. It’s a really delicious offering from BALENCIAGA, and the chic bottle is a plus. - Kelly

ELIE SAAB Le Parfum, Resort Collection 2015
With this apocalyptic storm happening around us, it’s safe to say summer has well and truly left the scene. There’s no sunshine in sight, but at least I have ELIE SAAB Le Parfum, Resort Collection 2015 to remind me of what summer smells like. Inspired by the Mediterranean, the light fragrance features florals, white jasmine and frangipani, with base notes of amber and cedar, and some fruity fig, mandarin and orange blossom thrown in for good measure. - Sarah

Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey City Blossom
As a floral fragrance lover, the limited-edition Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey City Blossom is right up my alley. With notes of pink peppercorn, citrus, freesia, magnolia, white cedar and white musk, it whisks me further away from the colder weather with every spritz. Designed by French visual street artist, Mademoiselle Maurice, the beautiful packaging is the perfect finishing touch to a great scent. - Aja

See By Chloé
Chloé can do no wrong in my eyes, and the latest edition of the cult fragrance, See by Chloé, confirms that. Subtle nodding to the original with woody base notes, the newest family member has a very vibrant and floral zest. Combining fresh notes of bergamot, apple blossom and jasmine, this is spring in a cute, pink, candy-striped bottle, I’ll be relying on it all winter long. - Nat

Roberto Cavalli Paradiso
The blend of bergamot and sweet mandarin orange in Roberto Cavalli Paradiso makes me feel so content - there’s no other way to explain it. There’s something about that citrus mandarin scent that reminds me of the change in seasons. I love this time of year and I love this perfume! Inspired by the Mediterranean sea and Italian landscape, this woody, floral fragrance is pure glamour in a bottle. - Whitney

ck one summer
Want to hold on to that summer feeling? Get your hands on this light, citrusy fragrance. It’ll take you back to that road trip you took towards the sun with the wind in your hair (at least, that’s what it did for me). I love how unpretentious this unisex scent is: It’s warm, inviting, social and makes for fabulous daytime wear. - Joc

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet Edition
The fun never ends when you spritz this limited-edition fragrance from Marc Jacobs. It’s light and playful, with a scent that blends fresh blooms and a hint of something sweet. Once settled on the skin, it lasts for hours. In true Daisy style, the colours of the flowers on the lid brighten up any room. This is one scent I will be sporting for a while - it definitely puts a spring in my step. - Aimee
