With kissable lips always in fashion, the BD team reveals their fave go-to lip products.
Dr. Bronner's Lip Balm
As someone that pretty much lives in black clothing, I add my ‘pop’ of colour with bold lips. But the downfall of my master plan is that I have very dry lips - aka a bold lipstick’s arch nemesis. To keep my lips hydrated, smooth and nourished ,my go-to balm of choice is Dr. Bronner’s Lip Balm in Lemon Lime. Made with organic beeswax, jojoba, avocado and hemp oils, the balm provides a protective barrier against the elements, such as drying winds and cold weather. I apply the balm every morning, let it sink in and work its magic to reveal chapped-free, perfectly prepped lips. - Aja
MOMMA Vegan Shea Butter Lipstick
I love me a good lippie. It’s the one thing that can vamp up a look from zero to hero. But this one does a little more than just look pretty. I’m rocking the lilac shade at work today, and along with the gorgeous and sophisticated colour, I’m loving the fact that it’s made of 100% vegan minerals, jojoba oil and orange peel. It’s a lipstick that doesn’t leave your lips crackly and dry! I’d also happily tote it around because of its chic packaging - I think I’ve just found my new handbag staple! - Joc
Carmex® Lip Balm - Jasmine Green Tea
There’s nothing I find more soothing than curling up with a cup of green tea, a book and my cat. That’s why I was instantly drawn to the new Carmex Jasmine and Green Tea Lip Balm. The product is just as moisturising and kind to my lips as the regular Carmex Lip Balm, but it has a fabulously relaxing green tea and jasmine scent that instantly puts me at ease. In winter, when it’s cold and my lips are chapped and feeling sorry for themselves, I know which lip balm I’ll be reaching for…. Thanks Carmex! –Whitney
Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Crayons
As a child, I always fancied myself a bit of an artist, enjoying craft time more than most and leaving a trail of coloured pens, pencils and the like throughout my house. Burt’s Bees has just appealed to my inner child with the release of Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Crayons. The Lip Crayons offer matte lip colour in six different shades, with the benefits of a balm thanks to the combination of creamy shea butter, kendo oil and jojoba oil. Rather like a hybrid between balm and lipstick, the Lip Crayons can be worn as either. Or you can do as I do and use it as both, layering up the balm for a pop of colour at night. - Sarah
NUXE Rêve de Miel® Baume Levres
I'll admit it, I'm a little useless when it comes to my lips - they are like the forgotten middle child. I'll be diligent with skincare, sun protection, and make-up for my whole face, but my lips are always desperate for attention - and unfortunately usually overlooked. As a result, my lips are a little worse for wear. Often sunburnt and dry, I'm surprised my boyfriend is willing to go anywhere near them. But they've been witnessing a recent turnaround thanks to NUXE's Rêve de Miel® Baume Levres. This ultra-nourishing lip balm has helped to repair, soothe and protect them. With a beautiful grapefruit, lemon and honey scent, this balm is a joy to apply. Plus, it doesn't have any of that stickiness sometimes associated with lip products. The fact that this product uses 80 per cent naturally-originated ingredients gets it even more ticks from me. - Yelena
