Switzerland may be notorious for its chocolate and mountain ranges, but the small nation is also home to Mavala Switzerland - the beauty and skincare creator behind a seasonal range of vibrant nail polishes, proudly formulated in its Geneva factory.
The members of BD’s Expert Panel were recently asked to trial the latest collection from the brand. Themed for autumn, the collection includes an array of warm hues with names such as Amber Drop, Warm Cognac and Flannel Grey.
Mavala’s latest colours boded well with panel members, with Melanie Giandzi from Nail & Polish admitting: “[The range] looks really beautiful.”
Maria Vlezko of So Nailicious commented on the stunning colours, with Jessica-Anne Lyons of Taken by Surprise continuing: “There's a great range of autumn colours, and I'm especially excited about the Velvet Prune shade.”
All panel members were impressed with the texture of the nail polishes. Giandzi commented on the great formula from which the polish was created.
For Lyons, the best part of the nail polish was the fact that it didn’t require the typical top coat. “After swatching each shade, I was so impressed by how opaque and smooth each shade was upon applying the second layer. Usually I'd apply a clear top coat to smooth out the polish underneath, but the Mavala ones didn't really need one at all!”
As for picking favourites, there are two stand-out colours for Lyons. “I really love the Amber Drop and Duchess Rose shades. They will definitely be getting a lot of use in my collection,” she admits.
