There’s a reason that magazines continue to do Stars without make-up” covers – they sell well. With celebrities normally appearing unattainable, it’s nice to see stars looking less than perfect (making us feel better about ourselves in the process!).
But while these types of images used to be snapped with the long lens cameras of the paparazzi, recent times have seen more and more celebrities taking to posting their own make-up-free photos on Twitter.
Although Katy Perry seemed less than impressed when husband-at-the-time Russell Brand posted a pic of her sans-make-up, other stars are happy to let their followers see the real” side of them.
Because of Twitter, for the first time fans have been able to see Snooki without her OTT fake eyelashes, AnnaLynne McCord’s troubled skin and what Lady Gaga looks like without her heavy war paint.
Accompanying her make-up free pic, McCord tweeted, I woke up this morning and decided I’m over Hollywood’s perfection requirement. To all my girls (and boys) who have ever been embarrassed by their skin! I salute you! I’m not perfect – and that’s okay with me!”
With stars one-by-one succumbing to the fun of showing their Twitter followers what life looks like behind the make-up, this is one trend I’m never going to tire of…
