Skincare has become the cornerstone of any modern beauty look, and Miranda Kerr put this theory in action for Monday’s 'China: Through The Looking Glass' Costume Institute Benefit Gala.
To create Kerr’s fresh look, luxury beauty company worked with celebrity make-up artist Lisa Storey on the model’s skincare and make-up regime for the event. “The look was inspired by the Louis Vuitton short dress and simple middle part hair. Fresh, youthful and natural make-up was a refreshing feeling for such a chic modern dress,” says Storey.
Storey first prepped Kerr’s skin with La Prairie Cellular Softening and Balancing Lotion and Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil before moving on to the eyes. “I started the eye shape with Luxe Eyeliner Automatic in Noir to frame the eye, giving a little kick to the edges to lift the eye,” explains Storey.
“I followed with Cellular Treatment Eye Colour Ensemble in Les Bruns. I gently contoured the eye socket extending the dark shadow out to the edge of the eye, and gently smoking it out for a soft look. I then smudged the lighter shade under the eye to continue the frame and blending it so it faded out with no hard line.”
Next, Storey applied two shades of Skin Caviar Concealer ● Foundation SPF 15 in Soleil Peche and then Mocha for contouring. She then used the Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing ● Brightening Eye Treatment pen under the eye and on the balls of the cheeks to highlight and make the eyes pop.
On the cheeks, Storey used the Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in the Rose Glow and Peach Glow shades for a natural luminescent glow, along with a gentle dusting of the Cellular Treatment Bronzing Powder. She then focused on the eyes, applying the Cellular Treatment Mascara Instant Build in Noir to lashes, and filling in and elongating the brows with the Luxe Brow Liner Automatic in Brun. She completed the look by using the Cellular Luxe Lip Enhancer and the Cellular Luxe Lip Colour in Almost Pink.
