The social network game-changer from NET-A-PORTER

You know that anything associated with NET-A-PORTER is going to be stylish, innovative, and lust-worthy. Tomorrow, the luxury fashion site is set to unveil its new social network, The Net Set, aiming to blend social media and shopping like never before.

Created by NET-A-PORTER vice president Sarah Watson and creative director Alexandra Hoffnung, The Net Set app allows users the opportunity to share their style, loves, and inspirations, as well as shop online.

"The rise of social media and style blogs has shown that women around the world are inspired by each other's style and their closets. The Net Set is to mobile in 2015 what net-a-porter.com was to desktop in 2000," says Massenet.

A NET-A-PORTER press release explains further: “Today, we are living the golden era of digital exploration where connectivity is instant and the world mingles on the mobile web. From today, the most fashionable of these will be known as The Net Set.”

The Net Set app features a live feed of the luxury fashion items and content trending across the globe. Users can then upload and share items and images that define their style, as well as creating personal “love lists”.

On top of creating their own profile, users will be able to join “Style Tribes” - user-curated clubs that group themed content, products and brands - think monochrome, double denim and the like. There will also be an invitation-only section called “The Style Council”, where style experts and icons will be able to help users in real time.

The Net Set will initially launch tomorrow on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
