Victoria’s Secret girls reveal top fitness tips

With a career that revolves around modelling underwear, it’s no wonder the ladies of Victoria’s Secret have the best bodies in the business. Though there’s no doubt they’re genetically blessed, the runway beauties stay taut and toned thanks to dedicated workout regimes.

The latest generation of VS models advocate a range of exercise forms. Martha Hunt cites her personal trainer as her main motivator, telling Style.com: “I trust whatever he tells me to do, and it typically involves a lot of pilates and resistance bands and strengthening workouts.” She also finds solace in SoulCycle when she craves cardio: “It’s just fun to do because the music is pumping and the girls get really into it.”

However, the most popular workout for the Victoria’s Secret girls is boxing. Model Elsa Hosk credits Adriana Lima for inspiring the ongoing dedication to the sport. “Adriana has seven years’ experience boxing, so I looked up to her,” she says. “Once I tried it, I loved it so much that I made it a part of my routine.”

Candice Swanepoel is another boxing fan. “I box, and I do a lot of resistance, three times a week,” she says. Lais Ribeiro has also jumped aboard the boxing bandwagon, stating she finds it relaxing: “Your workout is your zen moment. Once you’re there, you just concentrate on that and it really gives you a sense of peace. With boxing you have to stay in the moment - you can’t risk losing focus!”

Lily Aldridge is a big believer in the power of pilates, saying: “I do a lot of yoga and pilates. I think men should do them, too. They’re amazing ways to work out. I’m constantly telling my husband he should do pilates because it’s such an intense workout. I know it seems really girly, but I’ve seen huge athletes do it!” Long-time VS Angel Alessandra Ambrosio is another pilates fan, saying her essentials for runway preparation include: “Pilates and spinning…and a spray tan for an extra glow!”
