If you’re an Instagram fan, you’ve probably noticed a slew of Aussie Insta-stars promoting the #10HOURS campaign. Created by the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), the fundraiser is an initiative that acknowledges the statistic that one Australian woman dies from ovarian cancer every 10 hours.
And it isn’t just bloggers such as Brooke Testoni, Sara Donaldson and Karima Mckimmie who are involved - L’Oréal Paris is the premium partner of the campaign. The brand’s Australian ambassador Megan Gale is an eager supporter of the initiative, encouraging people to donate to OCRF and spread the #10HOURS message on social media throughout July and August.
Gale says of her involvement: “Both L’Oréal Paris and I are passionate about supporting and empowering women, and I am incredibly honoured to be a part of this initiative. While awareness of the disease has increased, it still remains a ruthless, silent killer without an early detection program. OCRF’s research is vital in the fight against ovarian cancer and together we hope to save thousands of women’s lives.”
As part of the #10HOURS campaign, The Australian Women’s Weekly will host a national High Tea Tour led by editor-in-chief Helen McCabe.
