Mamamia hires associate editor and senior editor

Following its recent allocation of a US editor, the Mamamia’s team is continuing to grow, with additional hands assisting in steering the Australian editorial team. Former Women’s Agenda editor Georgina Dent has just been placed in the role of Mamamia associate editor. Freelancer Wendy Squires will become senior editor on the website, based in Melbourne, and on the business front, senior media strategist Georgia Thomas has been named national strategy director.

Editorial director Mia Freedman tells AdNews she is excited to welcome the company’s latest editorial team members, saying: “Georgie and Wendy are both hugely experienced and well respected journalists who are leaders in the women's media space.

“Georgie's expertise in business journalism and the work she's done on careers, finance and women's advocacy at Women's Agenda, as well as her media experience more broadly, is going to add enormously to our talent base on Mamamia. Wendy has three decades of journalistic experience and has the ability to tap into the zeitgeist in a mature and thoughtful way.”
