Major media network moves creative agency in-house

As a result of rising costs, ABC has announced the launch of ABC Made - the company’s first in-house creative agency. The single creative division will attend to the company’s needs across TV, radio, news, international, commercial and digital.

Current ABC director of marketing and audience Leisa Bacon told Mumbrella of ABC MADE’s inception: “The in-house agency has been set up to maximise our creative staff across the organisation. It will deliver more efficiencies while keeping audiences front and centre.”

Former head of ABC TV marketing Diana Costantini will preside over the agency, with radio and TV promo producers, digital and print designers, motion designers and conceptual writers making up the rest of the team.

It is not believed the move will sever any existing relationships the ABC has with agencies on a freelance basis. A spokesperson reveals: “We do use a range of freelance creatives on a project-by-project basis and we anticipate that those partnerships will continue.”
