bdTrial: Natural wonders of the beauty world

The BD team get back to nature for this week’s beauty trial.

Natura Siberica Revitalising Siberian Bath Salts
Bathtime is my ultimate relaxation and meditation time, so I was very keen to try these organic bath salts - just the idea of a product from Siberia makes me think ‘clean, fresh and pure’! Bath salts are great because they cleanse and hydrate skin and also help the body to top up on the all-important mineral, magnesium (also found in dark chocolate which is, incidentally, another personal favourite!). Along with the great, forest-like scent, the additional benefit of these bath salts is the infusion of Siberian wild herbs and plant oils, which not only smell divine, but also have nourishing and anti-ageing properties. After languishing for a good half hour in the revitalising Siberian-infused bath, I patted myself dry. The result? Soft, silky-smooth skin that didn't even need moisturiser. - Janet

Eminence Organic Skin Care Balancing Masque Duo
With a smattering of acne and a few fine lines, my skin is the bane of my existence. It can’t decide whether it’s still going through puberty or heading into the ‘expression line’ phase. I’ve always wondered why there aren’t more products on the market that target different areas of the face, and then this Balancing Masque Duo landed on my desk! Separated into compartments, the Charcoal T-Zone Purifier works on bacteria and pesky pores, while the Pomelo Cheek Treatment revitalises and hydrates. I’m obsessed with how fresh the products smell and feel on my skin, which is testament to the quality of organic and natural ingredients used in the formulations. A must-have for anyone who has confused skin like mine! - Kelly

Anybody who knows me and my deadlines understands that come Friday, I’m in a decidedly zen-free zone. In case of sweaty-palmed emergencies, I keep Brauer Natural Medicine Calm Tablets and Oral Spray on my desk. Rather than turn to something chemical (and slightly more drastic) to keep me focused, Brauer’s offering is a gentle, homeopathic range that boosts relaxation. Passionflower and zinc are the key holistic ingredients in the products, helping to ward off stress and mild anxiety so I can get through deadline day smoothly. - Sarah

Kosmea Kiss From a Rose Lip Balm
You just need to step into my bedroom to realise I'm a big fan of roses. With vases of white roses on one side and jars filled with pale pink ones on the other, this flower is very special to me. That’s exactly why I wanted to get my hands on the Kiss From A Rose Lip Balm. Formulated with certified organic rosehip oil, this balm has a beautiful rose scent upon application. With the addition of nourishing shea butter and vitamin E, it really does bring a touch of romance to the humble lip balm. - Yelena

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes - Cucumber & Sage
I was so excited to find out about Burt’s Bees new face wipes. I think their entire range if beautiful, and I love their clever use of natural ingredients. I usually have quite a comprehensive nightly facial routine, but these 99.1 per cent natural towelettes promises to remove make-up and dirt, cleanse and tone in one step. I probably wiped my face longer than I needed to, but the towelettes were made from such a smooth fabric and felt ultra-refreshing and soothing on my skin. As far as the naked eye could see, they removed all traces of make-up. Then, all I had to do after that was slap on moisturiser. It’s definitely something I would use after a late night or just quietly, when I simply need to hit the hay. - Joc
