It's been a big week for celebrities and beauty company-related lawsuits. First it was Sofia Vergara suing Venus Concept, and now it’s Parlux Fragrances’ turn to sue Jay Z.
The fragrance company is accusing the singer, whose real name is Shawn Carter, for allegedly failing to promote the Gold Jay Z signature fragrance line that was launched as a partnership between the two in 2013.
Parlux Fragrances filed a $US20 million lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, claiming Carter had refused to take part in promotional appearances and social media support for the fragrance. Jay Z is also accused of being unsupportive of extensions to the original fragrance.
The company says it has lost millions of dollars in potential sales and development costs as a result of Jay Z's lack of support.
