Following the departure of Melissa Mason to MTV, Girlfriend has been on the lookout for someone to helm the mag’s beauty department. The publication’s found their ideal candidate in newly named features & beauty editor Cassie Steel - BD chats to Steel about her new position:
Can you tell me what the new role will involve?
I'll be working across Total Girl and Girlfriend magazines on their features and beauty sections – covering everything from lip gloss to crushes.
What appealed to you about the role?
I've been writing for teens and tweens for the last six years, but this beauty thing is new (and very exciting) to me! I can't wait to get into the studio and delve into planet beautyland.
What are you most excited about?
Hitting up planet beautyland for the first time.
What do you hope to achieve in this new position?
I'm really looking forward to creating fun, sparkly content for our teen readers and excite them about the world of beauty!
