New lifestyle site launches onto the scene

With more than 15 years experience in magazines including fashion and lifestyle roles at Bride to Be, OK! Magazine, and Who, Rosie McKay is going out on her own – with the launch of new lifestyle destination See.Need.Want

Launched today, we chatted to McKay about what people can expect from the site.

Can you tell me a bit about what See.Need.Want is all about?
It’s a style and lifestyle destination where you can find out about and shop the latest fashion, beauty and interiors trends, find recipes, read about health and fitness news, watch expert how-to videos, get wedding inspiration and get all the travel inspiration you need for your next holiday.

Why did you decide to create it?
I've worked in magazines for more than 15 years, I really wanted to create an interactive website that had all the elements of your favourite magazine at your fingertips at any time. I know being a busy working mum downtime is rare so See.Need.Want provides that one stop shop for all your lifestyle needs. In addition, creative directing and producing photoshoots is one of my greatest passions, so being able to work with a range of talented photographers, hair and make-up artists and have a platform to share this work and show off our collective talent was a real driver to launch See.Need.Want. Anyone who knows me knows I love to chat; be that about shopping, cooking, fitness and beauty or a new brand or restaurant I’ve discovered – now I can share all of that information easily via See.Need.Want!

How does See.Need.Want differ from competitor lifestyle websites?
The aim from the start was always to create a one stop shop about all the things women love chatting about with friends and I feel this is what See.Need.Want represents through a mix of topics; fashion, shopping, beauty, food, health, fitness, travel and weddings. I love to shop, so a lot of the stories will have a shop element and there will be a focus on bespoke content, and collaborations with personalities; from the main fashion shoots which will be produced and styled by me, to expert how–to advice through video content and step–by–step style articles. I am also excited about a new section I’m working on which will feature interviews with influential movers and shakers to inspire and motivate others to keep reaching for their goals.

How often will you be updating the site with fresh content?
Two to three times a week with fresh content across the various sections.

What are you hoping to achieve with See.Need.Want?
I really want it to be the place that people visit for their style and lifestyle fix. A destination they visit to shop, find a recipe to try on the weekend, get beauty and fitness advice, perhaps some inspiration for their upcoming wedding. It was so great to have Monika Radulovic for our launch fashion feature story, as I believe she epitomises everything the website stands for; she's stylish, approachable, accomplished in her own right, and has an infectious and a genuine joie de vivre.

Where will we see the website in five years time?
Hopefully there will be some full-time content producers working alongside me to continue creating exclusive content and get to a point where we can update the site multiple times a day! I also hope that with time brings opportunities to partner with other like-minded people and brands to collaborate on exciting projects. Hopefully in five years time the site will be a well-loved digital destination with established presence and influence and a go-to for everything you See.Need.Want.
