They can talk about beauty products for hours and have literally tried out thousands of lotions and potions – meaning that when a beauty vlogger raves about a product, you take notice. Here, we take a look at 10 vlogger-recommended beauty products and find out directly from them what makes these products so special.

“It lasts a long time on the skin, and feels like a moisturiser. It's very dewy, it's very luminous. It definitely gives a radiant glow but it's not shiny or sparkly or glittery or over the top – it's just beautiful. If [your skin is] dry or normal and [you're] looking for that radiance, I highly recommend this. It's my favourite radiance foundation right now."

"My favourite primer as of now is NIVEA MEN Aftershave Balm. I was out of primer and Rick [NikkieTutorials’ boyfriend] was shaving his face and had it lying around and I was like, 'Oooh, what's that?' That same day I wanted to do my make-up but forgot my moisturiser and primer, and so I thought, 'Why not try NIVEA MEN Aftershave Balm?'. So I tried it on and it smells like guys and it's really liquidy and cooling – but then I did my make-up and went throughout the day and I noticed how my make-up looked flawless all day long. I was like, 'Wait! Is this because of NIVEA MEN Aftershave Balm?!' So I looked up the ingredients and the second most-used ingredient in the aftershave balm is glycerine. Now what does glycerine do? It's going to make whatever you put on top stick to it. So if you put the NIVEA balm on right before you do your foundation, your foundation is going to cling on to it and stay all day. So ever since I tried it out that day, I bought my own bottle. I've been using it for three weeks straight now and my make-up has never stayed on so beautifully for so long.”

“The Laura Mercier Foundation Primers are my favourite hands down. I find that the Laura Mercier ones really make my make-up last longer and make my skin look nice. These don't fill in your pores, they're not silicone-based. I like the Radiance Bronze in the summertime as it has a bronze colour to it, and I like the Radiance one – this is probably my favourite out of all of them [the primers]. It gives me a radiant glow. It has a Champagne colour and just makes my skin feel so nice. It doesn't break me out. It really does prolong the wear of my make-up.”

“I’ve raved on and on about Alpha-H Liquid Gold – which is a glycolic peel. This one [the Alpha-H Liquid Laser Concentrate] is their next generation one. It's supposed to be for more mature and much drier skin – but it works really well on my skin. When I met up with Michelle [Doherty] from Alpha-H, she said, "You don't need that yet, stick with your Liquid Gold'… but I've been looking for something a little more plumptious. The Liquid Gold feels like you are putting on a toner, whereas this [the Liquid Laser Concentrate] feels a bit more silky and a bit more hydrating; in the morning my skin looks really plump.”

L'Oréal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation – Lauren Curtis
"This [the L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation] is amazing, [it is] my Holy Grail foundation. I love this product for three reasons. First reason is that it is thin in consistency, second reason is that it has a very amazing buildable coverage, and the third reason is the colour. It's really hard to find products available for me at the drugstore that aren't very pink-based, and this is very yellow-based – which is perfect for my fake tan. It might have a tiny bit of pink in it but it's overshadowed by the yellow. The consistency is very thin, which is surprising considering it's a very medium to full coverage and very buildable. That being said, if you want a very light and minimal coverage, you can easily get it with this foundation – you just have to apply less of it. The price point is on point – I literally can't complain about it. I find it lasts pretty well on my skin."

Maybelline New York  – My Pale Skin
“On a recent trip to Superdrug [a large beauty retailer in the UK], I picked up the Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeliner. Retailing at £4.99, the Big Eyes Eyeliner is a dual-ended pencil which features a nude beige on one side and a black on the other, with the pencil designed to brighten and make eyes appear larger than they actually are. To apply, you line the bottom waterline with the beige and tight line the top lid with the black. This opens the eyes, makes your lashes look fuller and eyes brighter. After a couple of uses, I found myself using the black side of the pencil to line my eyes, however, [I] wasn't really using the beige for my waterline that much. Instead, I've found myself using the beige to neaten up my eyebrows as an almost dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Pencil which is designed to conceal blemishes and highlight the brows. This product was a pure impulse buy as I hadn't read a single review on it before buying it and after having tested it, it's certainly worth the £4.99 price tag. What I like about products like this one, is finding multi uses for them to mix it up and get the best value for money.”

“I love the Clean & Clear Advantage Continuous Control Acne face wash – I use that every single morning and I think that really helps keep my skin getting too oily and prevents any future breakouts. But for any zits, [the CLEAN & CLEAR® persa-gel 10] helps it not be so huge and gross – and it really knocks out a zit in about three days."

Express Tanning Mousse – Chloe Morello
“For my fake tan, I use my trusty old Le Tan – but this is the new Express. It's called a 30 Minute Tan. When you apply it, you can wait a minimum of 30 minutes before washing it off. I don't have to wait four hours, I don't have to wait eight hours – if I don't have time, I can just put it on and then wash it off 30 minutes later and it develops into a light tan. If I want it to be darker, then I leave it up to, it says an hour, but sometimes I've left it up to three hours and it gets really nice and dark.”

“I've been using a number of different shampoos at the moment, but I feel like I always reach for these [the OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner] a little bit more because I love how they make my hair feel – it feels really silky and very healthy. I just love it! They are super cheap and you can get them in most supermarkets. OGX – amazing! And they have lots of scents and formulations to try out.”

COVERGIRL  – Shaaanxo
"This is just a beautiful foundation. It's got such good coverage. It looks great, the colour is great, it's so easy to blend – it's just a really, really nice foundation. When I wear this as my base, you can't tell the difference between this and a high-end foundation. It looks so nice and flawless – I love it."
