News.com.au appoints an editor-in-chief

Team changes are a dime a dozen in the publishing industry right now and News.com.au is no exception. The news site has just announced the appointment of Kate de Brito as editor-in-chief following news of her departure from Mamamia. de Brito will be replacing current editor David Sankey, and will commence her new position in January 2017.

de Brito is bringing more than 20 years of experience across digital and print to the News Corp role, returning to the publishing house after a year spent with Mamamia. Prior to that she was head of digital at News Corp’s Editorial Network and news editor of News.com.au.

News.com.au managing director Julian Delany comments of de Brito’s return: “Having previously worked alongside Kate I’ve witnessed her commitment and passion for news. I have every confidence that Kate’s ability to steer a digital newsroom will ensure we continue to lead and set the national agenda.”
