Pacific Magazines has promoted New Idea editor-in-chief Louisa Hatfield to general manager of Entertainment and Family, and Home Beautiful editor-in-chief Wendy Moore to general manager of Homes and Food.
In her new role, Hatfield will oversee a strong portfolio of entertainment brands including New Idea, that’s life! and WHO, along with mobile-first digital destinations, FamousLIVE, Practical Parenting, My Wedding and the relaunch of Girlfriend in early 2017. Before her role at New Idea, Hatfield worked on titles including Woman’s Day, TV Week, Take 5 and NW. While at News Corp she relaunched the Sunday Telegraph’s Sunday Magazine, before moving to the Nine Network as executive producer of Mornings for three years.
Moore took on the role of editor at Home Beautiful in 2006 and during her 10-year tenure the magazine’s sales have experienced growth from around 65,000 to more than 82,000. Her past roles include a stint at Burke’s Backyard and associate publisher youth titles at ACP Magazines. Since 2001, she has also been a judge on Channel Seven’s House Rules.
Pacific Magazines CEO Gereurd Roberts told Mumbrella that the general manager appointments have been established to accelerate the company’s strategy of market leadership in key audience categories and to fuel ongoing growth plans.
Sarah Burman has been appointed the new editor of Home Beautiful and Frances Sheen will step up to take the editor role at New Idea.
