Gucci has announced that creative director, Alessandro Michele, has put his stamp on the luxury house’s fragrance portfolio with the new scent: Gucci Bloom.
With notes of natural sambac jasmine, tuberose and Rangoon creeper (an Indian-sourced ingredient exclusive to this fragrance) Gucci Bloom is said to be a new key-pillar in the brand’s perfume portfolio; alongside other franchises like Guilty, Bamboo, Flora and Gucci by Gucci.
Coty Luxury president Edgar Huber has said that Bloom differs from previous scents brought forth by the brand, and that the scent is “very much inspired by Alessandro Michele himself.”
Michele, who was also heavily involved in the development of the eau de parfum, has had astronomic success at the helm of Gucci due to his reimagining of the brand; and Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzarri echoed this, saying: “We are now taking [an] important step forward in the alignment of our fragrance portfolio with the brand’s new aesthetic and direction.
“This is also the first milestone initiative under our new partnership with Coty. Together we have high expectations for Gucci’s potential for significant growth in the beauty category in the coming years.”
The fragrance will go on sale in August.
