A new study – the National Neck Expose study – has revealed at what age your neck’s visible ageing reaches ‘crisis point’.
The research, conducted by US brand PRAI Beauty on UK consumers, found that 19.6 per cent of women believe that your neck starts to give away your actual age at 40; the age most selected out of the range offered (38-55+).
PRAI Beauty CEO and founder Cathy Kangas spoke on the findings, saying: “What’s evident here is that neck ageing becomes a problem very early on in the ageing process, by the time you hit 40 – much younger than most realise.
“It’s the biggest giveaway and can add years to your perceived age, yet I’m shocked to see almost all the women we spoke to didn’t look after it at all.”
What Kangas is referring to is the 97 per cent of women who admitted they do not use a target neck cream to treat their neck lines, wrinkles, or sagging skin.
Further stats found were that 66 per cent of women said that wearing a polo neck can make a woman look younger, with 74 per cent of Londoners opting for this solution.
Looking into the amount of money a consumer is prepared to spend on a neck product, the majority cited $AUD45 as the upper limit, with 63 per cent saying they wanted to try a targeted neck ageing product
