Who: Deadly Ponies
When: 12:00pm, May 16, Carriageworks
Hair: Ben Martin for Redken
Hair look:
“The inspiration behind today’s look was that they wanted a really ethereal, garden vibe. They wanted a really youthful appearance and one of the references from the design team was a Picnic At Hanging Rock, 90s aesthetic; but also still keeping it very not gender specific. We have both female and male models today but we’re keeping the hair the same for everyone
The hero product that we’ve used today is the Redken One United because it allows us to activate the natural texture of the hair; but also protect the hair and not stifle it with product so we get that truly etheral, free-flowing vibe. ”
Make-up: Nicole Thomspon for M.A.C
Make-up look:
“Today for Deadly Ponies we’re going for shiny, happy, hippy, cult. All the models are related, and it’s the summer so they’ve seen too much sun. We’re creating characters in a cult today instead of a full beauty, glamorous look. Throughout we have really beautiful ochre tones and bronzed tones; and I’m starting by drawing freckles on the models with our lip liner pencil where they would actually get freckles. The pencils we’re using are Stone and Cork. Another important part of the character is bigg, bushy brows that we want to look like they’ve never been touched by tweezers. To do this we’re using the M.A.C Brow Pens where we can create individual hairs. No mascara on the eyes, we’re just doing a halo effect with eyeshadow and then talking the Prep and Prime Bright Forecast Highlighter and placing it in the corner of the eyes.”
