Hair look:
“For Akira today we wanted to go for a look that had a Japanese influence. There’s a lot of things going on in the collection – the fabrics are incredible and he’s working with those very ‘Akira’ shapes – so we collectively came up with the idea of a really small head. We’re removing all of the hair by totally slicking it back and then adding a detail in the knot at the back. We’ve worked a really high-shine gloss [Balmain Silk Oil] through the hair and when it shines up under the lights it looks like black rubber. The ends of the knotted-style bun at the back are being gelled out instead of tucked away to give the look that Asian flair. It’s almost like a sword.”

Make-up look:
“There’s an overall feeling of romanticism throughout the show so with the makeup the idea was for the girls to look super, super polished; but the colour story still has that romanticism to it. Key products we’re using are our new invisible highlight which is an illuminiser we’re using on the high points of the face. Then we’re actually using a lipstick all over the rest of the face; it’s a combination of peach, chocolate, or a peachy-taupe depending on the model’s skin tone. This colour is going all the way around the eye, on the lip and on the cheek as well. Brows are left natural and the lashes are just being curled.”
