WWD names beauty businesses of tomorrow

Fashion industry trade journal, WWD, has overnight announced its 40 of Tomorrow lineup. These are the faces that the publication believes will be driving the fashion, beauty, lifestyle and tech industries in the years ahead.

When it comes to beauty, WWD has called out six women whose burgeoning businesses are on the cusp of, or are already garnering global attention.

Summer Fridays’ Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores Ireland
Hewitt and Gores Ireland are the influencers behind Summer Fridays' Jet Lag and Overtime masks, designed to wake up tired skin.

The duo’s brand has been a hit far beyond their social followings, thanks to user-generated content and key retail partners. The Jet Lag Mask will be available at MECCA on December 7, followed by the Overtime Mask in January.

Huda Kattan
Kattan is an unsurprising entry given the rapid growth of her beauty empire. Since it launched, Huda Beauty has expanded beyond false lashes to makeup and, more recently, fragrance.

Juliette Lévy of Oh My Cream!
Located in the chic Parisienne district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Oh My Cream! Is a concept store dedicated to beauty, stocking the likes of Tata Harper, BioEffect and Ren.

Lévy’s passion for skin care has translated into a burgeoning retail business with a super cosy and instagrammable interior.

Chillhouse’s Cyndi Ramirez
Chillhouse is a cafe-come-spa in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Ramirez's haven offers a respite from the urban jungle and offers manicures and massages in a highly curated, beautifully designed space.

Ramirez is currently readying for Chillhouse’s next act: a new flagship location, and a broader product assortment.

Jane Lu, founder of Showpo’s
Aussie, Jane Lu, founded Showpo in 2010 in her parents garage. As well as fashion, the brand sells homewares, pet accessories, pool toys and of course, beauty.

Showpo's largest market is Australia, followed by the U.S., New Zealand, Canada and Germany.
