Eye of Horus taps local influencers for Splendour campaign

Byron-based brand Eye of Horus has proven that sometimes the best collaborators can be found right on your doorstep.

The brand recently launched a new campaign titled The Festival Edit – a series of makeup tutorials aimed at people attending this year's Splendour in the Grass. It also coincides with the launch of the brand's new Brow Fibre Extend product.

A number of Byron Bay creatives were tapped for the project, as well as Sunshine Coast twin models and influencers Renee and Elisha Herbert who created the makeup looks themselves. The final images and videos, which were released at the beginning of July, have been shared across the brand's website and social channels, as well as with the Herbert sisters' combined 770k Instagram followers and 45k YouTube subscribers.

On choosing the Herbert sisters, Eye of Horus cosmetics marketing manager Su Graf said: "We thought the twins would be amazing for this initiative because they're popular with girls between the ages of 16 and 25. We knew they'd be going to the festival and we wanted to show everyone how to create a beautiful and easy festival makeup look. It's a very engaging video which is fun to watch, so we're super happy with it."

The campaign was photographed by local Francisco Tavoni, hair styling by Suli Byron Bay, and the clothes Renee and Elisha wear in the shots are from Eye of Horus neighbours Trash Vintage and Spell & The Gypsy Collective. As the festival itself is held in Byron, the campaign feels like a truly wonderful celebration of not just the Eye of Horus brand, but its home turf, too.
