According to an article by WWD, Pat McGrath Labs has named its very first global brand face: supermodel Naomi Campbell.
The announcement may not come as a surprise to some, as Campell and makeup artist Pat McGrath have been friends and collaborators for 25 years, having worked together on many photoshoots and runways. They first met on the set of an i-D shoot in 1994, and have both since risen through the ranks of the beauty and fashion world.
And now, while Campbell’s duties as global brand face will include several campaigns throughout the year, she is commencing the partnership by starring in ‘Divine Rose,’ a film directed by McGrath to commemorate the new Divine Rose collection. The collection consists of two lip glosses, two eye palettes, two lipsticks and two lip pencils. The supermodel is also joining McGrath’s online 'Masterchat' series, a series of digital masterclasses featuring various makeup artists and influencers.
Of the collaboration, Campbell said she is both thrilled and honoured.
“Pat is my chosen family and an undeniable creative force in the beauty business,” she said. “She has been in my life since the early stage of my career. Pat has created a line that brings fantasy and glamour back into our daily lives and makes us dream again! There’s no one else I’d rather embark on this journey with than the iconic Pat McGrath.”
McGrath returned the sentiment with, “Naomi’s beauty is without compare, but what truly makes her special – and the ultimate McGrath Muse – is her legendary loyalty, unparalleled work ethic and sublime soul. It’s an understatement to say that I consider myself blessed to call her a friend.”
