With 10 years experience in magazines including working as the features director at CLEO, Sarah Ranawake is excited to reveal her latest project - working on the relaunch of Sporteluxe.com.
In January this year, Sporteluxe founder Bianca Cheah approached Ranawake to come on board as her business partner. Quickly agreeing, the two have spent the last four months working hard behind the scenes on the site with Cheah in the position of creative director and Ranawake as editorial director.
The hard work has paid off, with the two managing to transform Sporteluxe from a blog to a stylish online destination devoted to health, fitness and lifestyle. Sporteluxe began as a personal blog reflecting Cheah’s love of fitness and fashion, but has quickly developed a cult following.
When I started Sporteluxe, I never thought it would take off the way that it has, but my aspirations for Sporteluxe extended beyond it just being a blog. I knew Sarah would be such an asset to Sporteluxe. She’s had an amazing career in magazines and is extremely passionate about health and wellbeing. Most importantly, she also shares my dream for Sporteluxe which is to make healthy living stylish and cool,” says Cheah.
Ranawake adds, I’m so inspired by what we’re doing at Sporteluxe. I definitely think there is a gap in the Australian media landscape for a luxe online destination that showcases health, fitness and wellbeing in a stylish way. Given my magazine background, maintaining high editorial standards is also extremely important to me as well. Sporteluxe is all about style with substance.”
The revamped site will feature a line-up of contributors including some of Australia’s leading health, fitness and lifestyle experts.
Kara Geyer and Emma Stokes of The Media Hut will be overseeing advertising, brand partnerships and events for Sporteluxe.com.
