The Collective Hub has launched a special stand alone print edition, following its official closure last year.
The issue, out today, focuses on the technology obstacles and opportunities entrepreneurs face, including viral videos, influencer posts and podcasts, according to Mumbrella. Editor in Chief Lisa Messenger commissioned many of her former staff on a freelance basis in order to complete the magazine, which she claims to be a much more efficient and rewarding way of working.
This follows her comments at Mumbrella's Publish conference last year where she reflected on her traditional employment model: “I want [my staff] to be free,” she said on stage. “I want them to be able to have multiple jobs. I need to not get frustrated and sit there going ‘Why aren’t they working for me harder?’ or whatever. Let them be free. And I tell you what, I am just so much happier now.”
Messenger announced the launch on her LinkedIn page from Tokyo where she is currently working. She spoke to the giddy feeling she has being able to bring readers "one off issues now and then." Perhaps this isn't the last we'll see of the publication.
