Editor-in-chief announces mag departure

American style maven turned social media star Eva Chen has just announced she will be stepping down from her role as editor-in-chief of Condé Nast’s Lucky Magazine. Chen has been in the top spot for the past two years, but has confirmed she’s departing to spend more time with her family - husband Tom Bannister and young daughter Ren.

The chic New Yorker is renowned outside of the publishing world for her huge following on social media channels, in part due to her influential job title, but largely as a result of her on-point outfit choices and down-to-earth demeanor.

As is fitting of a social media aficionado, Chen released her official statements via her various social media outlets (emojis included).

To all 357,000 of her Instagram followers, she said: “This morning I made the extremely personal and difficult announcement to my team that I will be transitioning from @luckymagazine in the coming months. The brand will continue on and I’ll be leading it into its new chapter. Today/tomorrow/beyond, I’m a #luckygirlforlife. Thank you all for your support on this wonderful adventure I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of.”

Interestingly, the announcement follows months of change within Lucky Magazine, which indicates the publication is on an increasingly digital path.
