New editor-in-chief at OK! and NW

After announcing in November last year that OK! and NW merge lifestyle teams their lifestyle teams, the magazines are cementing this merger further with the appointment of Nicole Byers to the role of editor-in-chief of both titles.

Byers will continue to edit OK! magazine on top of her new responsibilities at NW. She will be working closely with newly appointed editor Mark Brandon, who stepped into the position yesterday.

Nicole is the natural choice for this newly created role. She has over 10 years’ experience in the Australian weekly magazine market, having previously edited titles including NW, OK!, TV Week and Woman’s Day,” says Bauer Weeklies portfolio publisher Jayne Ferguson.

Byers adds, I am truly passionate about these brands and very much looking forward to working with the talented editorial teams to continue to evolve both titles in this changing media landscape. I’m particularly looking forward to working with Mark. He is a very talented journalist and his breadth of understanding in entertainment and celebrity journalism is unsurpassed.”

Brandon concludes, I started my magazine career at NW, so to come back as editor is a real dream. The NW team is known as one of the hardest working in the industry and their dedication to the brand is evident on every page. I’m excited to be working with them and Nicole to drive this strong, uniquely Australian brand into the future.”
