Glossier debuts brand new product at the Oscars

Glossier just keeps on delivering the goods. Following a major 2017 for the brand, this year it has already launched another skincare product and two variations of its fragrance, You. And now, the brand can add eye makeup to its much-revered line of cosmetics, following the debut of Lidstar at the Oscars on Sunday night.

Lidstar is the brand’s first metallic liquid eye shadow and was initially glimpsed adorning the eyelids of Beyonce back in January at the Grammy Awards. Following that clever preview, the brand teased on its Instagram account that the new product would make an appearance on an unnamed celebrity at the Oscars. True to its word, the eye shadow was worn by Taraji P. Henson, Allison Janney, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tiffany Haddish, Greta Gerwig, and Salma Hayek on Sunday evening. This is the second time Glossier has debuted a product on the red carpet, having quietly launched their liquid blush, Cloud Paint, at last year's Oscars.

The eye shadows come in the following shades: a light purple called Lily, a silver called Moon, a light pink called Slip, a mauve called Cub, a pale lavender called Fawn, and a gold called Herb – all of which have an intense, opaque-metallic sheen.
