Following Trudi Brewer's departure to head up Simply You, award-winning journalist Sarah Murray has been appointed the new beauty editor at NEXT and Fashion Quarterly.
Murray has recently been a feature writer at NEXT, and has previously been the beauty editor of Sunday magazine.
I’m delighted to have been chosen to be the beauty editor for NEXT and Fashion Quarterly – two magazines which readers trust to deliver the latest and most comprehensive coverage on all things beauty. Like most women, I’ve adored beauty products since I was a young girl when I would steal my mum’s pale pink lipstick out of her vanity drawer. As time has gone on, I’ve refined what works for me, often favouring the classic red lip, but I’m always looking to uncover new trends, tips, ingredients and colours to share with others,” says Murray.
NEXT editor Sarah Henry adds, Sarah brings a unique set of skills and experience to the role and will make sure that the readers get the most up-to-date and relevant beauty content. She is also bursting with ideas, which along with myself, will ensure the much-needed evolution of beauty reporting.”
Fashion Quarterly editor Fiona Hawtin will become more involved in the planning and writing of beauty alongside Murray, and says: What’s great about Sarah is, because she’s an avid make-up and skincare devotee, she knows exactly the questions Fashion Quarterly readers will want answered. We want our extensive beauty coverage to be peerless and eagerly anticipated, whether it’s the season’s most important trends or new innovations in the science of anti-ageing, we’ll be right there for our readers.”
Murray will commence the role from the July issue of NEXT magazine and the Spring issue of Fashion Quarterly. To contact Murray, email samurray@bauermedia.co.nz or phone DDI: 09 308 2938 Mobile: 021550048.
