After settling into her role as the editor at , Edwina Carr took time out to chat to BEAUTYDIRECTORY about her career history, what attracted her to the role, and the direction of the site.
Can you talk me through your career history?
I started off at DOLLY and CLEO magazines before joining the digital team at Cosmopolitan. From there, I went on to be senior producer across both CLEO and DOLLY websites. Next stop: Mamamia Women's Network.
What attracted you to the role at The Glow?
The Glow's ethos is health and beauty, for real, and it's something that really resonates with me. Health and beauty is all about feeling good about yourself and I love that The Glow approaches all content in a way that's both relatable and insightful. We’re not trying to force complex and unattainable beauty and health trends upon our readers - we’re catering for young women, older women and mothers who want content they can apply to their own lives.
What does your role involve?
I'm leading a talented team to continue to grow the site as it celebrates over a year (just - it was our first birthday on July 1) of success in the Australian digital landscape.
Where are you hoping to take the website?
The Glow already has a very loyal and engaged base of readers. The plan is to keep growing our audience and continue to bring our readers the latest in products, fitness, health, hair, relationships and beauty in our unique, relatable style.
