Pigmentation, ageing and dryness - the BD team trial a range of serums to combat our complexion imperfections.
Ultraderm IntenC 20 Serum
After weeks of whipping winds and central heating, and a jaunt to Byron for a three-day festival, my complexion was looking less-than-lustrous. Then the Ultraderm IntenC Serum landed on my desk and started solving problems. Formulated with 20 per cent vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, this serum works hard to stimulate collagen, hydrate and – my favourite bit – boost radiance. I’ve been applying it morning and night after cleansing, and my skin’s already looking much healthier (and starting to like me again). - Katia
Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Complete Complex Serum
Working in an office full of women and in the beauty world means conversations about Botox and fillers are a regular occurrence. While I'm still shying away from plastic surgery (come back to me in five years time!), the one area of my face that I'd most like to touch up are the crinkles around my eyes. That’s why my colleague recommended the Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Complete Complex Serum. Helping to delay the need for plastic surgery, this rollerball serum works to refresh and smooth the skin around the eye area for tighter, firmer skin. It also reduces the appearance of under-eye puffiness thanks to the inclusion of caffeine. Like with other Obagi products I've tried, I'm very impressed. - Yelena
Ultraceuticals Ultra C10 Firming Serum
Though I’m not worried about ageing just yet, I’m all for trying serums that help to prevent those pesky fine lines and wrinkles from popping up too soon. My favourite anti-ageing serum is the Ultraceuticals Ultra C10 Firming Serum. It is a face, neck and décolletage serum that visibly tightens and firms skin. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to prevent future damage and helps to repair the signs of ageing that are already showing. The lightweight, gel-like serum absorbs easily into the skin and doesn’t feel heavy. A winner in my books! - Aja
Jasmin Organics Natural Ageing Serum
I have the appetite of a small child and drink like a fish... Suffice it to say, I don’t exactly lead an ‘organic’ lifestyle. But my skin can only take so many chemicals, so I’m currently trying to stick to organic skincare products. This serum is from one of my favourite new brands, Jasmin Organics, and is just beautiful. The rosehip, orange, patchouli and rose otto essential oils are more hydrating than an icy-pole after a big night. Now, onto my dinner of two-minute noodles and a glass of wine. - Kelly
The Body Shop Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil
My skin has always been a bit of a drama queen. At the first sign of winter’s chill, my poor face freaks out and I end up looking like I’ve spent three months in the Pyrenees rather than going through a standard seasonal change in Sydney. That’s why I’m such a devotee of facial oils, like The Body Shop’s Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil. A part of the Oils Of Life range, the oil contains black cumin oil from Egypt, rose hip oil from Chile, and camellia oil from China. I consider it a skin-saving grace, nourishing my face back to baby-soft after a mere couple of days. - Sarah
