Stella McCartney has steadily revealed the chosen famous faces of her latest perfume campaign POP, the latest of which is Madonna’s lookalike daughter Lourdes (Lola) Leon.
The first fragrance from the designer in four years, POP is targeting a younger demographic than McCartney’s previous scents. The tuberose and sandalwood concoction is intended for the free-spirited, with McCartney commenting: “POP is a spirit. It’s about capturing and celebrating that very special and exciting time when you are finding yourself and coming into your own. It’s about freedom, and starting your life away from judgments or labels.”
The release incorporates a campaign which promotes self-acceptance and individuality, a notion that attracted McCartney to Leon: “Lola, who I’ve known her entire life, is at the beginning of her career as a performance artist. She’s an independent, inspirational and free-spirited young woman. Despite being born in the spotlight, she has kept her feet firmly on the ground!”
Three other modern muses join Leon in the campaign - musician Grimes, model Kenya Kinski-Jones and actress Amandla Stenberg.
