Instagram is testing a handy new feature

Any dedicated Instagrammer knows that a carefully curated profile is important, especially if the platform is being used as part of a business. Because of this, photos are often deleted from profiles if they no longer mesh with the aesthetic of the account, or in some cases, if they perform badly. And let's face it, most regular users are likely to have one or two photos from the past they'd rather their followers didn't see.

Previously the only option would have been to delete the image entirely, but it's been announced this week that Instagram is working on a feature that will allow users to archive their posts, rather that get rid of them altogether.

Similar to the feature that lets you privately save other users' photos, the archive button will simply move posts (along with the likes on comments) to a separate section of the app. Users can also opt to reshare the photo back to the profile if they change their mind.

So far there's been no indication as to when users can expect to see this feature, but with live testing already underway, it's thought the wait won't be a long one.
