Presented by Harper's BAZAAR magazine, BAZAAR in Bloom is a prestigious annual gala in aid of The Royal Hospital for Women's Fertility & Research Centre, held this year at Ivy Ballroom in Sydney.
The hair looks featured throughout were created by a team of Goldwell stylists led by director Daren Borthwick and lead stylists, Garreth Lenagh and Jordan Robertson.
BEAUTYDIRECTORY sat down with Lenagh before the show to talk through the three key hair looks.
"One of the three looks today is the "Slick" look. What we've done is use the Goldwell StyleSign Hardliner and really sculpted the hair around the scalp. We're working with the head shape and then leaving the ends nice and natural with a bit of an oil finish. For this we've used the Goldwell Kerasilk Control Rich Protective Oil. There's a centre part and we've used some hair nets to set the look while it's drying.
"French Girl Kate Moss" is the second look and this is a lot softer, a lot more romantic. We're keeping the girls hair completely natural in texture and adding a bit of volume with the Goldwell Style Sign Big Finish. We're then using some ribbon and we're putting the ribbon around the neck as a choker and then tying it in the hair at the back. For this we've also used the Goldwell Kerasilk Repower Volumising Blowdry Spray and then for a light and fluffy finish, a dry shampoo and a light hairspray.
Finally, "Crimp". Crimpers are coming back because they're being manufactured again but they're being used in a different way to what we've seen before….more for creating a texture set. So we're back combing, then crimping, and brushing it out which gives the hair a really light, beautiful texture. We're finishing that with a light hairspray.
The "Crimp" is really the Goldwell signature piece for this evening because we've also used some rose gold and new pastel colouring that's really showing through on some of the blonde girls this evening. So it's Goldwell colour as well as style."
