A testament to 'doing what they do best', two ex-marie claire editors have recently launched a new women's lifestyle website, Primer.
Felicity Robinson and Anna Saunders, both experienced journalists, have teamed up to create an online destination they describe as a "purpose-driven media business".
The site will cover topics across fashion, beauty and general lifestyle, while committing to donating half the businesses profits to NGOs that help women in need. According to Mumbrella, Primer will support the Women And Girls’ Emergency Centre in Sydney and the Against Malaria Foundation in the first year.
A quick look at the site's Instagram page will tell you that Primer is no destination for celebrity gossip, with one image caption reading, "So you’ll have to find out all about that ‘feud’ between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton somewhere else." Contributors to the site have so far included well-known beauty editors and writers Lucy Adams, Sherine Youssef and Erin Cook.
Of her new project, Saunders told Mumbrella: "There’s little doubt that we’re in the midst of a ‘global ethical awakening’, where millennials are using their voices and their wallets to help shape the world they want to live in.
“Primer helps women take part in this movement – and make a difference – in a way that fits seamlessly into their lives."
