While, according to reports, 96 per cent of female perfumes are described as florals, a new study shows that females actually prefer masculine fragrances.
New research by Fragrantica and showerstoyou.co.uk, found that in a study of 66,000 participants, 70 per cent of women’s top rated perfumes contained ‘masculine’ notes like wood or spice. Furthermore, it was also found that 55 per cent of women saw these masculine notes as integral to their signature scent.
Additionally, the study also found the top 10 fragrances for women from a survey of 44,904 consumers:
1. Coco Mademoiselle - Chanel
2. Hypnotic Poison – Dior
3. Alien – Thierry Mugler
4. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue –Dolce and Gabbana
